ZzzQuil VoxBox

I received this for review purposes from @influenster I was hype! For those who don't know, I suffer from multiple chronic autoimmune diseases and pain is the #1 reason why I can't sleep at night. Zzzquil is NOT for pain. Its just for sleep. And it worked! Took a few for me to fall asleep but once I did, I knocked out. With no side effects!!! When taking this you should definitely give yourself 7-8 hours to sleep. ‪#‎Zzzquil‬ ‪#‎SleepLovers‬ ‪#‎ad‬ ‪#‎gotitfree‬‪#‎review‬ ‪#‎influenster‬

L'Oreal Paris Voxbox

I received this L'Oreal Paris VoxBox from @influenster for review purposes. @lorealmakeup ‪#‎lorealmakeup‬
I'm really impressed by these products. The only thing I won't get any use out of is the eyebrow kit. It's too cool toned for my skin tone, so I'll be passing that on to someone else.
Mascara and mascara primer, I love. I'm very picky with mascara. I love the brush, doesn't clump my lashes up (major brownie points). I don't know if the mascara is waterproof but I did a coat of that and a coat of my favorite mascara and I gotta say, I love the combo. I've definitely added that to my routine. The shadows really surprised me. They're so pigmented and creamy. I was very skeptical. I thought they would've been chalky but nope! The black mechanical eye liner was meh. The formula is very creamy. Doesn't pull my skin while applying but I don't like how it's not smudge proof. I like waterproof makeup. ‪#‎makeup‬ ‪#‎influenster‬ ‪#‎review‬ ‪#‎loreal‬ ‪#‎voxbox‬ ‪#‎mascara‬ ‪#‎eyebrow‬‪#‎eyeliner‬ ‪#‎eyeshadow‬ ‪#‎makeupartist‬ ‪#‎mua‬ ‪#‎cosmetologist‬ ‪#‎beauty‬ ‪#‎video‬

My Fresca VoxBox

I've received a VoxBox from influenster for complimentary testing purposes. It's called the FrescaVoxBox and I absolutely love it! I'm in love with all the products I received. #FrescaVoxBox

It contains a Pure Silk shaving cream in the scent "Raspberry mist", a Neutrogena daily scrub, JAFRA blends (fragrances), NYC Lacquer, Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs (tanning lotion basically) and Not Your Mother's shampoo & conditioner.

This is probably one of my favorite things in the box. When I was smelling the shampoo, I got a vague whiff of mint. Only later after reading the back, did I see it does have mint essence. And the conditioner has raspberry essence. Not only do I love the smell but it's also sulfate free! How happy was I to receive this?! You have no idea. Its great for my colored purple/blue hair. Doesn't strip the color as fast as any other shampoo. #NotYourMothers

This Pure Silk shaving cream smelled so much like raspberry I just wanted to eat it. Didn't leave my legs super dry but moisturized. I kept rubbing my legs after. Lol so soft. #LovePureSilk

A great new bright apple red lip lacquer from NYC to add to my collection in my purse. LOL It has no smell which is good for some who can't stand the smell or are allergic. It's like a lip gloss but really pigmented. I definitely wouldn't wear this without a lip liner base just so it won't run. #NYCLacquer

This is definitely something I would buy! I tend to have oily skin due to over drying my face. With this bad boy I don't have oily skin anymore. Definitely gentle enough to use every day only if you use a moisturizer after every use. It's not a scrub since it doesn't have any micro beads in it. It has a gel type texture and it's clear. It doesn't make me break out either. That's why I love Neutrogena! #HealthySkinBoosters

I gotta say this was the highlight feature of the box. I needed a perfume since I ran out of my previous one. And this? OMG! It's definitely a spring/summer fragrance from JAFRA blends. The full sized bottle is Blackberry Juniper Magnolia. It's a sweet but fresh smell. The smaller ones are Violet Pomegranate, Blackberry Juniper Magnolia and Sea Salt Rose Petals. It's said you can mix 2 or more fragrances to create your own blend. The only one I don't like is the Sea Salt one. Not my type of fragrance. But I would definitely mix the blackberry and the pomegranate one. Smells delicious! #myJAFRAblend

Makeup looks

Hey loverlies,

It's been awhile since my last post. So I'm just going to upload pictures some of the creations I've done makeup wise.

Makeup I did for my birthday (04/30). I did my whole face. The works. Foundation, highlight and contouring, blush, eyebrows, shadow, lips AND lashes! Lol.

Close up on my eye.

This was my first look using ColourPopCosmetics eye shadows in Chipper and Empire.

Using Bubbly, Cheeky and Dare eye shadows from ColourPopCosmetics.

Swatches of ColourPopCosmetics shadows.

A purple collaboration for world wide Lupus awareness day which was on May 10th. @mollypopsofcolor and @bold_creations_mua helped me out. I appreciate these women so much for helping out!

Makeup Addiction

Makeup sales! My greatest weakness! Lol

I think my real weakness are eyeshadows and nail polishes. I have large quantities of both and I don't see myself stopping any time soon. I just keep adding more to my stash. Although I do know that makeup have an expiration date.

However, I have learned, if I really want to learn everything about applying makeup and nails and such that I would have to experiment with everything on myself of course. So I buy/play with one thing I have not yet learned how to do. Such as applying foundation, contouring, shaping/filling eyebrows, applying gel liner.

So for learning new things I bought new things. Lol.

I recently bought a gel liner set from Shany Cosmetics. My makeup stash mostly consists of their products. I absolutely love their line, it's affordable and the payoff is insane!

They are beautiful bold colors. I was always into bold colors more than neutral colors but nonetheless still interested.

I've swatched them as well.

I also bought a contouring palette from Motives Cosmetics. This is a rather new product and there are two palettes. One is called Fire, it's more for warm toned people, while Ice is for cool toned people.

Warm skin tone: pink and yellow undertones.

Cold skin tone: red and blue undertones.

This is the Fire Palette from Motives Mavens.

More products/pictures to upload. I kinda went on a makeup spree. Hehe.

Practice

Practice makes perfect is one of my many favorite sayings. Trial and error is another.

I try to practice one beauty thing a day may it be a new hairstyle, wing my eyeliner a certain way, try a new bold lipstick.

Today I decided to shape/fill in my eyebrows using Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade is dark brown.

One eyebrow came out perfect while the other is crap. Blah lol. Well I'm sure I'll get better eventually. I also tried to "clean" them up by using nyx concealer around the eyebrows to make them pop more.

What do you think?

Adnerb aka Brenda

How I became the me today

The reason why I have started this blog is because my passion for makeup/nails has become greater than I ever thought it could become. At first I thought it was just something I liked doing. Just something I was interested in. I watched a ton of youtube videos about makeup and nail tutorials. I learned through trial and error. And now I want others to see how far you can come with ambition and determination.

Now here's a little about me.

I was born and raised in NYC Manhattan from the year 1990 to 2000. I then moved to Europe, Belgium to be exact. I graduated high school in '09. I then moved back home. 2009 was a very hard year for me. Not only was I trying to finish high school I was also battling for my life. Later that year I got diagnosed with Lupus.

For those that do not know what Lupus is, Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease. In simpler terms, it means my body cannot differentiate good from the bad cells so it'll keep attacking everything and anything. Such as my joints, skin, blood and organs. There is no cure.

Lupus was an eye opener for me. Everything changed. My environment, me myself. And other than music being my way out, makeup/nail designs were there for me as well. I was tired of paying other people to f*ck up my nails. So I decided I can do my designs myself. Again, watching YouTube videos. Doing it myself.

I started with nail designs, nail care, eyeshadow application and now I'm learning acrylic nails, foundation application, shaping eyebrows. Mind you, I learn by trying it all on myself. Occasionally I have my mother as my guinea pig but she's too picky with colors and such. lol

And that's pretty much it. Y'all up to date now.
